Y'all, I swear. I need more hours in the day. Because unless I'm not going to sleep, I just can't seem to fit it all in right now.
But, I am so thankful for how full my life is because it means I am truly blessed to have so many great people and so many great experiences filling my days.
And today is a special day. It's my birthday. I've already had so many people call, text and tell me HBD on facebook. I am more blessed than I deserve and I want to share some of that with y'all, my special crafty friends.
So...I'm going to combine this giveaway with my blogiversary last month (bad bloggers tend to miss those important days!) and give away 2 gift certificates to Etsy. That way, you can find something special to buy no matter what your interests may be. And then I don't have to choose between my fabric shop buddies. ;)
So, I've got 2 $25 gift certificates that may have your name on them. All you gotta do is comment here with your favorite gift ever. It can be a gift to you or from you. It can be something amazingly special and expensive, or the perfect pair of socks to make someone's day. Let's share the love and offer up some gift ideas at the same time.
Blog followers obviously get a second entry, since you're who I talk with the most, so let me know in a second comment how you follow me.
I'll give you through the weekend to enter and choose a winner Monday afternoon.
Alright I'm off to run and shower so I have time to sew before I pick up the kids from school. Tonight is our Homecoming game, so we've got a parade and a game to help me celebrate. :)

ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday! And congratulations on your blog anniversary! My husband is a wonderful gift-giver. He has surprised me with so many wonderful gifts over the years. The one that popped into my mind when I read your blog today was when "Santa" brought me a huge basket of pamper-me products the Christmas I was pregnant with our first child (nearly 26 years ago!) I can still see that giant Crabtree and Evelyn basket sitting on the hearth Christmas morning. What a treat!

ReplyDeleteHappy birthday! The best gift I've ever received has to be a book that my mom wrote, illustrated and bound by hand for and about me. Thanks for chance to win some Etsy love!
ReplyDeleteThank you! You are so nice to share. The first gift that comes to mind is a set of coordinating monthly wall hangings I made for my sister. I hope she loves them as much as I did because I SERIOUSLY wanted to keep them for myself. :)

ReplyDeleteOne of my favorite Christmas gifts from my husband was surprising me by flying my youngest brother (I am one of 6 kids) and his wife and 3 little boys home to Maine from Atlanta for the holiday. Everyone was going to be together except Matthew, as money was tight for them with 3 little ones. Two days before Christmas, they arrived and stayed with us for a week...priceless!
ReplyDeleteHappy bday!! What a great comment idea! My favorite gifts are those that were handmade for me. I might not have always appreciated them as a kid (I have a Nov birthday, too... as in "oh, yeah! another SWEATER" when my brother with the summer bday got fun outside toys from my grandmother lol) but I surely appreciate them now. I have a few small pieces of furniture - night stands and a cabinet - that my grandfather made for me and gave me that I cherish. Now I am excited to have my dad make things for my kids that they'll know were made special just for them as they grow up. Last year they got a neat dress up center/puppet theater and this year they're getting doll beds : )

ReplyDeleteHappy birthday, just a day late! I think the best gift I ever received was an email from my son. It was for Mother's Day, toward the end of his freshman year in college. And he thanked me for all I'd given him over the years - not too much mushy stuff, quite succinct but from the heart. Having just come through his somewhat turbulent teenage years, that message was music for my soul!
ReplyDeleteHappy, happy, happy birthday!
ReplyDeleteEvery year for Christmas, my mom puts together goody boxes for both my sister and I. It's always filled with random things. Homemade edibles, kitchen gadgets, a yummy soap or lotion, hand towels or cloth napkins, hand-me-downs from her house, mementos from my dad or grandparents, old photographs, etc. It's always the last thing we open and it's my very favorite Christmas day tradition.

ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday! I love finding gifts for people, and the favorite gift I gave was "The 12 Dates of Christmas" that I gave Serge. We had a great time with the 12 dates, some were expensive, "Mickey's Christmas Party" and some were free "Drive around looking at Christmas lights", but all were fun! :)

ReplyDeleteBest gift ever? Probably the year I got an automatic starter for my car. My husband is horrifically practical, but it was so nice getting in a warm car when all through the miserable Wisconsin winters.
ReplyDeleteGrowing up my favorite gift I remember was my very own tennis racket. I was thrilled as could be.
